Installing

Pick the page for the computer Cloudlog will live on. They all finish in the same place: a browser, a login, and an empty log.

  • Docker runs Cloudlog on the computer in front of you, from the dev branch. That is the setup used for development.
  • Linux is the one to follow for a server you leave running. Debian and Ubuntu, with PHP 8.5.
  • DietPi is that same Linux install, on a Raspberry Pi, with DietPi doing the first part for you.
  • Windows is a PC on the bench, using WampServer. Fine for you. A poor idea to open up to the internet.
  • FreeBSD and OpenBSD are there if that is already what you run.

These pages are for the person setting the server up. They assume you are happy at a command prompt. Once the site is open in a browser, you can ignore them and carry on with the station pages.

Every install asks for the same four things when the wizard has finished:

  1. Create your own login and delete the demo user, m0abc / demo.
  2. Update the country files, from the Admin menu.
  3. Create a station location and set it active.
  4. Create a station logbook, link that location, and set the logbook active.

The next pages walk through the last two, and then logging a contact.

If you would prefer someone else to run the server, magicbug offer hosted Cloudlog.
