User accounts

Admin, User Accounts. You only see Admin when your user is an administrator.

Cloudlog needs at least one user. A fresh install has m0abc, password demo, and that account is an administrator on every new Cloudlog in the world. Create yourself, give yourself Admin, log out, log in as yourself, and delete m0abc before anyone else can open the site.

Picture needed: user-accounts.png User Accounts, the list with callsign, email, and type visible, and the Create User button. The demo user can be in the shot if it is still there.

The list

Create User is the button at the top. The table is the username, the callsign, the email, the type, and the last login. On each row: Edit, a password reset, an email button, and Delete.

The card above the table, About User Management, is the short note Cloudlog shows on the page. Read it once. It is the same advice as this section.

Roles

An administrator sees the cog, the users, the country files, and the rest of this section of the guide. An operator logs contacts and looks after their own station. A club station often has one administrator and a few operators. A station at home can stay as one administrator.

The person currently logged in is the callsign at the top right. Edit on your own row is the same page as Account, with the role shown because an administrator is the one looking.

Passwords

The password button emails the person a link. That email only goes out when Global Options, Email, has a working sender. If the reset does nothing, the email settings are the first place to look. Send the test on that card to yourself before you rely on it.

Deleting a user removes their login. Change their role when they should keep the account and lose the cog.
