QSL cards

A paper card is a picture you keep, and a mark on the contact that says where that card is. Sent, received, requested, queued, or not required. LoTW and eQSL have their own pages. A card that someone asked for on the web is OQRS. Printing the ones you still owe is Print requested QSLs.

Picture needed: qsl-management.png A contact open on QSL Management, with the front and back file boxes and the received and requested buttons.

The marks on the log

The QSL column is two triangles. The upward one is sent. The downward one is received. Green is yes. Yellow is requested or queued. Grey is invalid, which is the "not required" mark. Red is no. Hover a triangle for the date and the method: bureau, direct, electronic, or via a manager.

The cog on the row is the quick way to change a mark, while it is still red.

If the card has not been sent:

  • Mark QSL Sent (Bureau) and Mark QSL Sent (Direct) set sent to yes and store the method.
  • Mark QSL Card Requested sets sent to requested, by direct. A bureau request is the button on the contact, below.
  • Mark QSL Card Not Required sets sent to invalid. The card is no longer outstanding.

If the card has not been received:

  • Mark QSL Received (Bureau) and Mark QSL Received (Direct) set received to yes and store the method.

A yes hides that half of the menu. Search has the same marks on its cog. There, Requested and Not required sit with the received items, and Requested is still stored as direct.

On the contact

Click the callsign. QSL Management is where the picture and the fuller set of buttons live. QSL Card appears beside it once a picture is stored, and shows the scan.

The upload has two file boxes, front and back, and one button, Upload QSL card image. JPG, PNG, and GIF. The warning above the boxes is the largest file this server will take. Each side is stored as its own picture on this contact. Delete removes that picture. View opens it.

Under the upload:

  • Mark QSL Received, bureau, direct, or electronic.
  • Mark QSL Card Requested, bureau or direct. Requested and queued contacts are the list on Print requested QSLs.
  • Mark QSL Card Not Required.

Received yes is what an award counts as a paper card, when that award is set to count cards.

Editing the contact

Edit QSO, then the QSL tab, then QSL Card. This is the full set, including values the buttons do not offer.

Sent and received are each No, Yes, Requested, or Invalid (Ignore). Sent also has Queued. Received also has Verified (Match).

The method on either side is Direct, Bureau, Electronic, or Manager. Sent Via is the manager's callsign, or whoever is handling the card.

The logging page has a shorter QSL tab: sent, the method, Sent Via, and a note. That note is what goes out to eQSL, and it stops at 240 characters. Received is set afterwards, from the contact or from Edit QSO.

View QSL Cards

Logbook, View QSL Cards. The list is every picture in the active station logbook: callsign, mode, date, time, band (or the satellite name), and the file. An empty logbook says "No QSL Cards Found." The line at the top is how much disk the pictures are using.

Add Qsos searches for a callsign and attaches this same picture to another contact. One scan can cover every QSO on a multi-contact card.

The menu item is on unless you switch it off. On your account, under Cloudlog Preferences, the switch is Show "View QSL Cards" in Logbook menu.
