API keys¶
An API key is a password for another program. Cloudlog Aurora, a phone app, a logging program on another PC: each one that talks to your Cloudlog needs its own key.
Your callsign, API Keys.

Which key to make¶
Create Read & Write Key when the program sends contacts or radio data. Aurora needs this one.
Create Read-Only Key when the program only looks at the log. A display, a website, anything that must not be able to write.
The page shows the API URL, which is the address of this Cloudlog. Copy that into the other program along with the key. Give the key a description you will recognise in a year: "Shack PC Aurora", "Phone".
The calls themselves, for someone writing a program, are on The API. The test button on a key row opens a short answer that says whether the key is valid.
Delete a key when you stop using the program. A key you no longer need is a spare key to the log.
Last Used tells you whether anything is still talking to Cloudlog with that key. A key that has never been used was copied wrong, or the other program was never pointed at this address.
