Your account

Your callsign, Account. This page is you. The station you operate from is Station locations. The log you are looking at is a station logbook. Account is the login, how Cloudlog looks for you, and the outside sites you have joined.

The left edge is a list of sections. Open one, change it, and use Save Account at the bottom. A password box left empty keeps the password already stored. That applies to your Cloudlog password and to LoTW, the callbook, eQSL, and Club Log.

General Information

Username, email, and password are the login. First name and last name are for mail Cloudlog sends you.

Callsign is what the menu shows at the top right. Gridsquare here is yours as a person. The gridsquare stored on a contact is the one on the station location. An administrator editing someone else's account can also set the role, administrator or operator.

Cloudlog Preferences

Theme is the colour of the site for you. The list of themes an administrator allows is under Themes. Language is the language of the menus. Timezone and date format change how times are written for you. Measurement preferences are kilometres or miles, and that is what distances use.

Dashboard Options are the cards on the page you land on after you log in: upcoming DXpeditions, QSL cards, eQSL, LoTW, VUCC grids, and the greyline on the map.

Main Menu holds Show notes, which puts Notes in the top bar, and Quicklog. Quicklog puts a callsign box in the top bar. The next switch decides what Enter does there: log the contact, or search for the callsign. Further down, Show "View QSL Cards" in Logbook menu is on unless you switch it off. That list is QSL cards.

Map Settings choose whether a map draws every contact or only the confirmed ones.

Default Values

Default Band is the band the gridsquare map opens on.

Default QSL methods are which confirmations count when a page says confirmed: a card, LoTW, eQSL, QRZ, or a mix. Tick the ones you trust.

Logbook fields are the five columns on the log. Mode, band, reports, country, a locator, SOTA, POTA, WWFF, and the rest are all in the dropdowns. Pick the five you actually read.

QSO Logging Options:

  • Log end times. Yes records a start and an end. No stores the end as the same moment as the start, which is what a short HF contact wants.
  • Profile picture. Shows the other station's picture from the callbook.
  • Location lookup. Fills a gridsquare from a place name.
  • SOTA, WWFF, and POTA lookup. Type a reference the list already knows, and the name and locator fill in. An administrator refreshes those lists from Maintenance.

Previous QSL Type is which confirmation the earlier-contacts panel prefers to show: a card, LoTW, eQSL, or QRZ.

Third Party Services

Four cards sit in a row.

  • Logbook of the World. The username and password LoTW uses when Cloudlog downloads your confirmations. The certificate is a separate step, on LoTW.
  • Callbook. QRZ or HamQTH, for looking a callsign up while you log. Callbook lookup.
  • eQSL. The username and password for the account. Per-station nicknames are on the eQSL page.
  • Club Log. The email address you log in to Club Log with, and the password. A callsign is rejected. Which locations upload, and whether a new contact is sent as you log it, are on the station location. Club Log.

Further down the same section are Winkeyer, which is marked experimental and covered on Winkey, a private feed key for hams.at, and Remote Operation, which adds a card to the logging screen for browser audio. Leave Remote Operation off unless you mean to use it.

QSO Form

This section is which boxes and tabs the logging screen shows. The note at the top says to switch off the ones you do not use.

The main boxes are RST, name, QTH, locator, and comment. The Station tab holds transmit and receive frequency, receive band, power, and operator callsign. The General tab holds IOTA, SOTA, WWFF, POTA, SIG, DOK, and the US state and county. Other tabs are Satellite, Notes, QSL, and DX Cluster. Switching a tab off hides it. The contacts already logged keep whatever was stored in that field.
