Analytics

Analytics is the active station logbook, drawn a few different ways. None of these pages change a contact. If a chart looks empty, check the logbook that is active, and that the station location is linked to it.

The menu is fixed. It does not have a settings page the way Awards does. Open the view that answers the question you have.

Statistics

Statistics is the headline page. The cards along the top are Total QSOs, Unique Callsigns, Countries Worked, Bands Worked, and Modes Used. With an empty log the page says you have not logged any contacts yet.

Date Range Filter, the button on the right, opens a start date and an end date. Apply Filter redraws the page for that range. Clear puts the whole log back.

The pills under the cards are the same log, cut different ways.

  • Years. Contacts per year, as a chart.
  • Modes. Contacts per mode.
  • Bands. Contacts per band.
  • QSOs. A table of mode against band, with a total on each row and each column.
  • Unique callsigns. The same table, counting each callsign once on that mode and band.
  • Trends. Three cards, QSOs This Month, QSOs This Year, and Last 30 Days, then a line of QSOs per month.
  • Continents. A chart of the log by continent. The Continents item in the menu is the same idea with its own band and mode filter.
  • Most Worked. A short list of the callsigns you keep working. The Most worked item in the menu is the full list, with dates and a minimum count.

A Satellites tab appears beside General once the page has loaded, when SAT is one of your active bands. It is a chart and a table: the satellite name, and how many contacts you have on it.

Monthly report

Generate Monthly Activity Report asks for a logbook, a year, and a month. The logbook that is active elsewhere starts selected. Years run from the current year back to 2010. The month starts as this month. Generate Report builds that month.

The report follows the logbook you picked on this page, so you can look at last month on the club call while your own logbook stays active everywhere else. With no logbook at all, the page links you to create one.

Four cards sit at the top: Total QSOs, New Countries, New Gridsquares, and Unique Callsigns. New grids are split into HF, satellite, and EME when you have those. Under the cards, the new countries are listed overall and again by band, with the callsign and mode of the contact that was the first. Satellite and EME countries are listed on their own. The same pattern follows for new gridsquares. Modes, bands, satellite contacts, EME contacts, and continents fill out the rest.

Export as JSON (for AI) and Export as Text download that month. The text file is the one to paste into a newsletter. Generate Another Report goes back to the form.

Gridsquare map

Where the stations you worked were, drawn as locator squares.

The filters are band, mode, and confirmation. The band that starts selected is the default band for the grid map, set on your account. Pick SAT and two more filters appear: the satellite, and the orbit, All, LEO, MEO, or GEO.

Confirmation is four ticks: QSL, LoTW, eQSL, and QRZ.com. They start from the default QSL methods on your account. With a tick set, the map follows confirmations of that kind. With every tick clear, the map is everything you have worked.

Plot draws the squares. Clear Markers takes them off the map. Hover a square and the bar under the map shows the latitude, the longitude, the locator, and the distance and bearing from your station.

Activated gridsquares

The same map and the same filters, for squares you have operated from. That is the locator on the station location, for contacts in the active logbook. A summary row above the map counts the squares. Plot and Clear Markers work the same way.

The gridsquare map above is the stations you worked. This one is where you were.

Gridsquare activators

Stations in your log who have been on the air from more than one square. The line under the heading says so: activators, and the squares they activated, by band and satellite type.

Filters are band, and a minimum count. The minimum starts at 2, so a station with a single square stays off the list. The list runs up to the largest number of squares anyone in the log has activated. Pick SAT and a LEO/GEO filter appears: Both, LEO, or GEO. Changing a filter redraws the table. Show does the same. Reset clears it.

The table is the callsign, the number of squares, the squares themselves, then Show QSOs and Show Map. A station on a corner has their extra VUCC grids counted in with the main locator.

Distances worked

How far the contacts were. The unit is kilometres or miles, whichever you picked on your account.

Filters are band (All, SAT when you have satellite contacts, or one band), satellite once SAT is chosen, mode, propagation mode, and transmit power. Propagation includes the usual set: aurora, sporadic E, meteor scatter, EME, satellite, tropo, and the rest, plus Undefined for contacts with the box left empty. Power is the powers that actually appear in the log.

Show draws the chart. The reset button beside it puts every filter back to All and draws again. The chart is the number of contacts against distance, and it names the furthest. Click through when you want the callsigns at the far end.

Days with QSOs

Which days you were on the air. Four tabs.

  • Yearly. A table of each year and how many days in it have at least one contact, then a chart of the same numbers.
  • Weekdays. Contacts by day of the week.
  • Streaks. A run of days that each have at least one contact. The longest streaks in the log, up to ten of them, with a start date and an end date. Under that, the current streak. If the run stopped yesterday, the page says a contact today would extend it. If there is no current run, it says so.
  • Daily. Contacts on each day, as a chart.

Timeline

The first time you worked something, in date order. The sentence under the heading says what it is: first worked entities, and the contacts that go with them.

Filters are band, mode, and the award to follow.

  • DXCC. Date worked, prefix, country, whether the entity is current, and the end date when it has been deleted.
  • WAS. Date worked and the state.
  • IOTA. Date worked, the reference, the name, and the prefix.
  • WAZ. Date worked and the CQ zone.
  • VUCC. Date worked and the gridsquare.

Each row has Show QSOs, which opens the contact that was the first one.

Confirmation is three ticks: QSL, LoTW, and eQSL. With a tick set, the line follows confirmed contacts of that type. Reset clears the form. Show runs it.

Accumulated statistics

The same awards adding up over time. The sentence under the heading says so: cumulative award progress, by band, mode, and period.

Filters are band, mode, the award (DXCC, WAS, IOTA, or WAZ), and the period, Yearly or Monthly. DXCC and Yearly start selected. Show draws a chart of the running total, with a table under it. Change a filter and the chart updates.

Timeplotter

The time of day you make contacts. Filters are band, a DXCC entity, and a CQ zone. Show draws the time distribution for that slice. Useful when you are convinced you only ever work the same three hours, and you want to see whether the log agrees.

Most worked

Callsigns worked again and again, from the active logbook. The page says that under the heading.

Filters are band (All Bands, Satellites, or one band), mode, satellite, a from date, a to date, and Min QSOs. The minimum is 1+, 2+, 3+, 5+, 10+, 20+, or 50+. Apply Filters runs it. Clear Filters puts the list back.

A line above the table says how many callsigns matched, and at what minimum. The columns are rank, callsign, the number of contacts, the first QSO, and the last QSO. A zero in a callsign is drawn with a stroke through it, the same way the log does. No QSOs found means the logbook is empty, or the filter is tighter than the log.

Custom maps

The log on a map for a date range you choose. The heading names the active logbook.

Quick filters are Today, This Week, This Month, This Year, All Time, and Reset. Under those, a from date, a to date, band, mode, and propagation mode. Plot the range and each contact is a point. All Time starts from the oldest contact in the log.

Continents

The log split by continent. Filters are band and mode. The result is a chart beside a table: the continent, and how many contacts. This is the same split as the Continents pill on Statistics, with the filter in front of it.

EME initials

Moonbounce contacts, and the first time you worked each station that way. A contact counts when its propagation mode is EME.

Filters are band and mode. Show fills the table: the callsign, the date of the first QSO, the gridsquare, the US state, and how many times you have worked that station. The badge on the card is how many initials you have.

The same callsign from a different gridsquare counts as another initial. The same callsign in a different US state does too. Working them again from the same place adds to Times worked.

No EME initials yet means the active logbook has no contacts marked EME for the band and mode you picked.
